It's only fitting to do my first blog post on the event that started this all, my own wedding! Without planning my own wedding, I would have never discovered the passion I have for event planning. My boyfriend (Chris) and I had been dating for a little over 4 years when he took me on a trip to San Diego. I was secretly hoping he was planning on proposing while we were there. I went as far as getting my nails done, and I *might* have searched all of our luggage looking for my ring while he was busy... Well, I did not find a ring so I felt slightly defeated, but sucked it up and decided to try not to stress about it.
That evening the most amazing guy I have ever met asked me to marry him! He knew me too well, and had his parents drive to San Diego as well, with my ring so that I wouldn't find it and take pictures of the proposal itself.

The weekend after my new fiance and I arrived back in Tucson, my Mom and I had already schedule multiple venue site tours. To say we hit the ground running is an understatement! Over the course of 18 months my Mom and I toured 27 venues in and around Tucson, met with numerous photographers, videographers, rental companies, DJ's, cake bakers, etc. until I had secured my own personal wedding dream team. It was such a fun time that I look back on so fondly, my first inkling that event planning would be a part of my life going forward. My wedding day came and went by in what literally felt like a blink of an eye. Post wedding I had photos and my wedding film to look forward to, but after we received our photos and film I couldn't help but feel sad that it was over and done with. Luckily for me, I was only sad for a short time as an intern at my 9-5 job was engaged, and was struggling to find time to plan her own wedding (more on her wedding in my next blog post!). She asked me for help since she knew I had just gone through the planning process myself. I jumped at the chance to get back involved with weddings again! That is how I discovered I could continue with this newfound passion I had discovered.
